Quick answer

How does remote IT support work?

With your permission, a Syntrex Technologies technician connects securely to your computer to diagnose and fix the problem while you watch or step away. Sessions are logged and access ends when the issue is resolved. Remote support handles most software, email, account and configuration problems; hardware faults are referred to onsite or workshop support.

The Problem

Waiting for an onsite visit slows everything down

Many issues — software errors, slow performance, account lockouts, printer conflicts — don't need a technician standing in front of the machine. They need a secure connection and the right expertise.

How We Help

How remote support works

With your permission, we connect securely to your computer to diagnose and resolve the issue while you watch or step away and let us handle it. Sessions are logged and access ends the moment the issue is resolved.

Remote support covers the majority of software, account and configuration issues we see day to day. Hardware faults or physical repairs are referred to onsite or workshop support instead.

FAQs

Common questions about remote it support

Is remote access safe?

Yes. Remote sessions only begin with your explicit permission, you grant temporary access for that session, and access ends as soon as the session closes. Sessions are logged, and you can watch the technician work or step away. We explain what we find along the way, and you confirm everything is working before the session ends.

What if the issue turns out to be hardware?

If the fault turns out to be hardware, we'll tell you and refer you to onsite support or a workshop repair rather than continuing remotely. Remote support covers most software, email, account and configuration problems, but physical faults need a technician working with the actual device. Onsite and remote support share the same records, so the history carries over.

Is remote support available outside business hours?

Standard remote support runs during business hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM AEST. After-hours support is available on request, so contact us to check availability for your situation. If your business is experiencing a critical outage, call us directly on 1300 584 007 rather than waiting on a form submission.

Do you support both Windows and Mac?

No, our remote support is for Windows PCs and laptops only, and we don't support Mac computers. For Windows devices, that includes software troubleshooting, slow computer diagnostics, email and Microsoft 365 account issues, printer configuration, malware clean-up and application installation. For a Mac, an Apple Store or Apple-authorised service provider is the best place to start.
